Heart-melting photos show the awesome transformation of abused dogs before and after they were rescued
Kudos to our friends at the aptly named Bored Panda who put together an uplifting and thought-provoking collection of photos to commemorate International Homeless Animal Day, which was last Saturday, August 16. It spotlights the positive impact we can all have when we rescue a dog from an atrocious situation and give them a loving, nurturing environment in which to thrive in.
Shortly before he died, Robin Williams recorded this message for a terminally ill woman in New Zealand
The outpouring of emotional tributes in the wake of comic genius Robin Williams’s tragic suicide last week has continued with gusto with so many examples put forward about his generosity of spirit and his willingness to go the extra mile to help someone in need. Or just cheer them up, as with this short but sweet message Williams recorded for 21 year old Vivian Walleris who is in an Auckland hospital with lung, bowel and liver cancer. [Watch the video here]
20 women re-enact the famous scene from When Harry Met Sally and freak out the unsuspecting diners around them
The reactions of those poor unsuspecting diners around them are priceless! New York-based Improv Everywhere struck in a REAL BIG WAY late last year with this stunt where they discreetly planted 20 women in conversation with their male cohorts in the same Manhattan deli that the original scene was filmed in and let, erm, Mother Nature gradually take its course. Of course!

Along the way he asked 100 people in 11 eleven different countries to make one move in the hopes of […]
Now here is something we didn’t see coming, the double flavoured toothpick. Developed by Montreal-based cuisine company Phood Station, the Castor Double Flavoured Toothpick blows all all previous flavoured toothpicks out of the water with it’s intense natural flavours and not a hint of artificiality to be seen.
Now this is what we call a creative collaboration: no doubt inspired (fueled?) by the Spirit of BACARDÍ, renowned writer Warren Ellis and artist Michael Allred have teamed up to produce a brilliant graphic novel that looks at the history of the famous rum through the story of the founder’s son, Emilio Bacardí.
Because of the unfortunate reality of the economics of the situation, these hard-working cacao farmers in Côte d’Ivoire had never been able to sample the final product for which they toil so hard. This video captures them tasting chocolate for the first time. The reactions, as you can imagine, are priceless! [watch the video here]

Think of Photoshop’s eye dropper tool’s ability to take any colour it wants and use it for its own. Now imagine that on a real-life pen. Point at a patch of emerald-green grass, Caribbean-blue water, red-delicious apple – uh – red, and reproduce those same colours in ink. So much power!

They say that the act of getting married can do strange things to your mindset, but this one takes the (wedding) cake! In Tennessee (where else), the bride Shona Carter-Brooks did something almost incomprehensible: she tied her one month old daughter into the train of her wedding dress as she walked down the aisle. Well, it was ‘something new’. Amid an understandably furious public outcry, Carter-Brooks has defended the decision, saying that the baby was ‘awake and well-secured’ and ‘covered by Christ’.
This video of an elderly man with Alzheimer’s buying his wife flowers on Mother’s Day will bring you to tears
We’re a hardened bunch in the Lost At E Minor office (ok, ok, granted, we do run the odd cute animal post every now and then), but even we were deeply moved when watching this video about Melvin, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, and his heartfelt determination to buy a bunch of roses for his beautiful wife Doris, who has taken care of him for him for so many years.
