We recently made a stop in Boise on our US tour to play an in-store on a Monday evening on a night we didn’t have a show. Didn’t know what to expect, but what we found was a treasure. Maybe even better than the first season.

We recently played a show at the Napa Valley Opera House followed by two days off in Napa. I have never been there before. While I love wine, I have never been able to drink much alcohol, so I haven’t paid attention to the different kinds of wine available. My favorite winery we visited was Castello di Amorosa: a beautiful castle in the middle of miles of miles of vinyards with a tour and tasting that gave me a newfound appreciation for the world of wine.

It’s not often I find a video that reminds you how beautiful a mother’s love is. Especially a cat mother. Little did I know this kitten video would strike a chord deep inside me. I’ve watched it many times. So have the other 35 million people apparently.

Tyler the Creator is an exciting and interesting character these days. He is a rapper and producer, but his art isn’t really the point. The point is that he feels like the most incendiary and volatile personality since Kurt Cobain. His new record, Goblin, is out on XL Recordings.

Illustrator and artist John Malloy has been working on a graphic novel called Channel One and, without wanting to sound too much like Paris Hilton, it’s looking pretty damn hot. Update! As of July 2009, John Malloy has aborted the graphic novel Channel One to focus more on other projects, including his autobiographical graphic novel, Queasy. Stay tuned for details. Read more

Hailing from upstate New York, Phantogram were signed by the uber-hip Ghostly label on the recommendation of School of Seven Bells. Hardly surprising given Phantogram’s dark, beats-and-samples pop sound.
