With art, there is no limit to creativity. I think the talented David Batchelor would agree. Batchelor creates beautifully lighted sculptures from objects found on the streets of London. The purpose of the bright colors is to let viewers see the lights before they see the objects. This effect is spectacular. Read more

A good friend Devrryn Jenkins is a great artist. He uses a minimalistic approach to convey a deep message. One of my favorites works of his is the WALL piece. He uses a variety of Sharpies for his choice of medium, but the foundation for it all is knowledge and soul. Read more

The winners of the 2010 Skyscraper Competition, held by eVolo magazine, were architectural designers, Chow Khoon Toong, Ong Tien Yee and Beh Ssi Cze from Malaysia. Imagine a prison where the inmates produce valuable goods for the people below, giving inmates a productive day as well rehabilitation through work. The only way to escape is to have the ability to fly. Brilliant!
London-based indie-prog group Klaxons take their name from the Greek word ‘to shriek’. We interviewed vocalist and keyboardist, Jamie Righton, and asked him why, unlike many of their contemporaries, none of them grew up to become great footballers: ‘Me and Simon are from Stratford-upon-Avon and the only famous footballer to ever come from there is Gary Barnett! Jamie’s from Bournemouth and there are even less from there. I was asked to play for the Tottenham Hotspur Legends and Celebrities team in a new Sky TV programme but it clashes with our US tour. Shortstack are a Washington DC band that not many people know about outside of the the city. They recently released an EP of covers with some sweet choices on there — The Kinks, Captain Beefheart, and The Pupils, among others. Once again a band takes different styles, sounds, and time periods, and owns it like an extra finger.
