To this day, I still cannot sleep in the same room with a freaking teddy bear thanks to the Chucky movies. When I was nine years old, my brother put a Chucky doll under my covers while I was sleeping, then crawled under my bed and made noises. Needless to say, I woke up crapping myself. I still check the backseat of my car and my covers, just to prevent Tom Foolery.

The reaction to Claps And Autotune For Lovers has been amazing. To be honest, it was a record I kind of just stumbled upon. I traveled to LA about a week ago for some writing and other business and while there, I had the chance to meet and have a writing session with Allee Willis. This woman is one of the most amazing and eccentric people I have ever met. Besides writing Boogie Wonderland, Dancing in September, and the Friends theme song, she’s an accomplished internet pioneer and film creator. Check out her website, it looks exactly like her house. No joke!

Originally hailing from Kendal, Cumbria and now based in Leeds, the Wild Beasts foursome are the next hopefuls for Domino Records, who sent the group out to Sweden to record their first album, Limbo, Panto, released on June the 16th. The new single — The Devil’s Crayon — shimmers in wide-screen around a sense of location, melody and wonder at the scale of things. Indeed, it sounds like the theme song to a new kind of very English road movie.

Derrick R. Cruz has channeled his talent for creating densely detailed works into the creation of the brand Black Sheep and Prodigal Sons. Fuelled by the New York city art and fashion scene, Cruz’s pieces are timeless but relevant, and beautifully detailed in their imperfections. They combine gold, silver, resin and bronze to create dark but wearable art.
