		<p>I first stumbled on <a href="http://www.stephengill.co.uk/" target="_blank">Stephen Gill&#8217;s</a> work through his gorgeous photographs of lipstick-stained cigarette butts. He concentrates on objects, places and people which go unnoticed and uses decay, the elements and sometimes collage to create images which are astonishingly beautiful, poignant, often funny and completely fresh. His new book, Coexistence, about a pond in an industrial waste site, comes out this week. <span id="more-121206"></span></p>

Her new short, The Event, is a tale of togetherness during the last days of the world, a beautiful blend of live-action and line animation, and a stunning accompaniment to Tom Chivers&#8217; poem. Pott&#8217;s exploration of our dark places and her use of colour and text are always pitch perfect. A massive talent.</p>

Sticky! a <a href="http://www.facebook.com/StickyShortFilm" target="_blank">short animated documentary</a>, and a love song to evolution, the persistence of life, uniqueness and the little creatures underfoot. </p>
