While we’ve seen cold brew popping up around town as temperatures rise, the crew at Coffee Supreme have taken cold brew to the next level with the limited release of their Don Pachi Geisha.

This stunning coffee, now legendary after winning Best of Panama 2011 and breaking the record for the most expensive coffee traded at US$111 per pound, is one of the rarest and arguably one of the best coffees being cupped this year. Gushing with strawberry notes and a creamy body, the Supreme crew have done it again, creating an exceptionally refreshing brew that’s become the most sought after sip this summer.

your-coffee-just-right">Coffee Joulies. But I think these guys are really sweet and may be onto something here. So what is is? Well, ‘Coffee Joulies work with your coffee to achieve two goals.

First, they absorb extra thermal energy in your coffee when it’s served too hot, cooling it down to a drinkable temperature three times faster than normal. Next, they release that stored energy back into your coffee keeping it in the right temperature range twice as long’. For those of you burning your tongues on too hot lattes or having to pour out the second half of a luke-warm to freezing mocha, get on board!

New York-artist Tom Fruin shows us how one man’s trash can become one city’s treasure. His latest creation, the Kolonihavehus, is situated in the plaza of the Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen. Throwing back to the 19th century Danish tradition of Kolonihave — ‘little house with garden’ — Fruin’s sculpture is made from a thousand reclaimed pieces of plexiglass found in dumpsters around the city.

We are spoiled for choice when it comes to the best cafes in Melbourne. It still amazes when I come across a spot that boasts the best coffee, the best atmosphere, and the best menu. It may often be populated by bespeckled, part-time bloggers and the like, but Proud Mary, in Collingwood has it all going on without any of its neighbourhood hipster pretention. Did I mention the one of a kind custom-made Synesso coffee machine? Try their summer bircher muesli topped with fresh mango, tangy green apple and crushed nuts. It really is THE BEST.

If I had to give you a list of my seven favourite fashion boutiques, Eastern Market would be up there. Housing a strict code of black and white styles from imported labels, and some of Australia’s most unique and creative jewellery and accessory designers (Julia Deville and company), it’s no wonder those in the know flock to this place that was once a church but now an esteemed fashion haunt.

A few days ago I stumbled across a great new vintage store — Vintage Garage — that has popped up on Smith St, just near the heart of Melbourne’s ‘north side’ grunge fashion area. This cavernous boutique is maze of small dressing rooms brimming with carefully selected and collected vintage clothing and relics. There’s so much to choose from and prices are so reasonable it’s easy to walk out with a basketful of classic tailored jackets, retro high waisted slacks and an antique golden tea set to match. Just eight weeks old, it’s a must see for vintage hunters and gatherers.

You’ve probably wondered who was the inspired genius behind installations such as the gorgeous herb wall at the newly renovated Circa restaurant, GPO’s Christmas Tree made of 500 blue spruce filled oil cans, or one of the quirky, floral — industrial pieces sitting on the table in front of you at your pick of Melbourne’s top cafes and restaurants. Kanteen, The Wall or Batch — to name a few.
