Chantal Young is an innovative designer based in Milan who works with print and batik to create wearable art. She employs everyday objects such as bubble wrap, wire mesh and fallen leaves in her work and treats each garment as a canvas on which she carefully places each element, ensuring no two dresses are ever the same.
Portland/LA duo Soft Metals combine dreamy layered synth pop with beguiling vocals and thoughtful lyrics. Christian J Petersen, creative director of Seattle’s Dumb Eyes, has made a video for new single Voices, which takes us on a hallucinogenic journey into a disturbed young girl’s mind.
I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the crystal craze. Crystals, like triangles, are ubiquitous these days as visual shorthand for something vaguely mystical.
