Australian artist, Lynette Wallworth, is getting ready to release an installation filmed underwater in digital planetariums, which takes us on a journey into a mysterious realm of fluorescent coral reefs, sea creatures and rare marine life.

During her TEDxSydney talk, she wowed the crowd with a trailer of the film, which premiered at 25 planetariums around the world to coincide with the Venus transit of the sun on June 5. Wallworth’s intent is to leave the audience with a sense of wonder for the complexity of the coral community and a deep-felt longing to see it survive. The images are set to a sound track by Max Richter and new songs from Aboriginal singer Gurrumul and Antony and the Johnsons.

Admittedly, most of my reading is done electronically now either via the Kindle for books and the iPad for magazines, but nothing beats a physical book collection for turning a house into a home (or a house into a library, in my case). After seeing the Bibliochaise on a UK book show where it was given away as a prize for the guest authors, I had to have one. Only the best of the best makes it into the book chair, which stores about 300 of my favourite books.
