Each day on my walk to work, I pass geometric street art of birds constructed from colorful squares and triangles. After watching this video, I now know which artist is responsible for the striking lines and bold patterns. Influenced by his experience in street art and graphic design, Taj Alexander describes the process behind his recently exhibited body of work.

The Strange Man with the Odd Face populates the scored fantasy world of biblio-art that is Animal Bookscapes. Eff Pan’s sketches convey an ideal mixture of creepy and cute, but when combined with carved books and lovingly collected plastic toy-friends, his characters are taken to a new level. An original song accompanies each book sculpture in this multifaceted project.
They say you can’t reinvent the wheel, but designer Ron Arad has done just that with his Two Nuns Bicycle. Rather than the traditional spokes and tires, this bike moves along on mandalas of bolted steel.
J. Shea’s 3D, multimedia works look like single frames from stop-motion animation versions of classic fairy tales, full of sea monsters, dragons, and quirky characters. Read more

Lush was one of the best bands to come out of the indie-tastic early ’90s. They set the standard for shoegazey, ethereal pop from the British Isles, and they were about to break big with their 1996 album Lovelife before drummer Chris Acland hanged himself in his parents’ home. The band is a bit of a forgotten gem at this point. Let’s cross our fingers for a reunion.
