If there’s one thing San Franciscan garage pioneers Thee Oh Sees are not short of, it’s albums. Since 2007, the band has churned out LP after LP, documenting the band’s evolution from a psychedelic noise experiment to a well-rounded garage rock band. Read more

Sydneysiders Pear Shape parade their own brand of joyous pop-rock on the track Righteousness. Set against the backdrop of a local indie music scene saturated with brooding experimentalism and ambience, Pear Shape provides a refreshingly accessible alternative, calling on the influences of their 60s predecessors, The Kinks and The Zombies.

I don’t think School Knights were striving for originality when they wrote this song. By naming this track Fuck The Beach, this Colorado act are learly more than aware of the genre they fall into. How can you not love a band called ¡Apeshit!? Their name says it all. I got to catch these guys tour at a warehouse in Bed-Stuy the other night as they were capping off their most recent tour, and even though there were only 20 or so people in the audience by the time they went on, their set was absolutely epic, culminating in frontman Pat Berran being hoisted up and subsequently dropped by the drunken, sweaty, and heavily tattooed crowd. If you love fast, spastic, intensely brutal punk, this band will make you crap your pants.

Now you can take the annoying but fun sport of popping bubble wrap at work, or on a special occasion, onto your tie. This should definitely pass the time if you’re annoyed or you just want to annoy someone. Read more
