I am a lover of all things Polaroid. In October 2008 The Impossible Project saved the last Polaroid production plant for integral instant film and started to invent and produce totally new instant film materials for traditional Polaroid cameras. In 2010, The Impossible Project saved analog instant photography from extinction by releasing various, brand new and unique instant films.

When I heard Polaroid were stopping production, I was saddened, as I think there is something unique and almost magical about the Polaroid. They capture something instant, a moment held forever. The colours and exposure blend in such a way that it creates an overwhelming emotion of that point in time, a dream-like state that reminds us how beautiful life can be.

I am a little bit obsessed with Mark Ryden as I think his work is beyond amazing. Being a big fan of low brow and pop surrealist art I see his work as the highest standard in this genre.

He has the style of an old master but combines it with modern pop culture creating a juxtaposition of new and old. His quirky slightly morbid characters are delightful to gaze upon in their timeless world. Mark Ryden is indeed an awesome source of inspiration to me.
