Because of their catchy and giddy lyrics and tunes, they are often referred to as a bubblegum rock group or a nerd pop band. Fresh from their latest album, Follow the Leader, here comes an endearing music video for their single, There’s a Lonely Road to Sunday Night. The song was recently featured in an independent film by Marie Jamora, Ang Nawawala (What Isn’t There). The music video, directed by Ramon de Veyra, features the cast of the film. Ang Nawawala opens in selected theaters in Manila, starting September 12.

But Nobuyoshi-san is not your typical shashinka, the Japanese term for photographer. His style is very sexy, ultra provocative, and super erotic.
Not long after the recent cine-remake of the 1960s TV series, Dark Shadows, which starred the effervescent Johnny Depp, comes another grotesquely gorgeous stop-motion animation, Frankenweenie, directed by the bizarre Tim Burton. Frankenweenie was originally written by Burton in 1984 and is a parody of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. After 28 years, it will be shown in theaters in October. Before watching the full length, make sure you give its 30-minute version a view first. Check out young Sofia Coppola’s cameo in it, too.

Lo-fi television used to be all sorts of entertaining, even in monochrome. With today’s LCD, LED, and even 3D screens hullabaloo, television should be more fun, right? But as they say, nothing compares to oldies but goodies. NetworkAwesome, founded by Jason Forrest and Greg Sadetsky, is a super cool website which takes us to a telly-fic trip down memory lane. From old school TV series like Jem and the Holograms, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, and The Muppet Show, to hard-to-find films and special tributes like Electronic Music Week, Godzilla Day, and Warhol Weekend, NetworkAwesome is a cult and classic haven for all enthusiasts of analogue and vintage nostalgia.
