I’m interested in the uniform line style of instructional graphics combined with the look of vintage comics of the 1940s. Color has become increasingly more important to me in my latest work. I am trying to create an emotional connection through an emotionless technical illustration style.
New York artist Jazzberry Blue uses bright colors and playful pop culture references. His work has crazy titles like ‘Gum, Drugs and Coca Cola (gifts under 5$ for the witchdoctor who has absolutely everything)’. It’s bold, graphic and fun.
Fatma’s sketches are some of my favorites. Drawn with a combination of blue ball-point pen, pencil and colored markers, these sketches are breathtaking. I love the flowing lines in the hair; there is just something about the way she draws eyes that really captures my attention. Her use of color is stunning without overpowering the sketch. Jessica Eaton is an experimental photographer working with analogue-based photographic techniques. Her abstract images are saturated with incredible colors. The combination of light, geometric shapes and texture is amazing. See for yourself.
Robert Malte Engelsmann is a Berlin-based artist. His work is all about line and where it takes him in a conscious-unconscious process he calls ‘flowstate-drawing’. The images produced are haunting.
