Burlington, Ontario natives Sandman Viper Command destroy the competition when it comes to bluesy garage pop. My first experience with them was during our second trip to play NXNE 2011 in Toronto, Canada. As it goes with most city music festivals that feature a marathon of bands, I stumbled in on these guys because the bar they were playing at offered free booze. Read more

I met Jesse Gentry a few years ago on the set of a short film about zombies, cowboys and robots from space. The dude has a weird style that is nothing short of macabre. Lately, I have been very impressed with his photographs. They involve small-scale models and figurines that he builds in his apartment using random objects you would find in dumpsters and utility closets. The result is similar to something out of the mind of Jan Svankmajer, the director of the Czechoslovak film Alice.

Audiotree is one of my favorite companies to discover new music. Based out of Chicago, the company wears many belts, including live sessions, band interviews, sponsorships and artist management. The indie, electronic pop duo Plastic Operator paired up whilst studying audio production at London’s Westminster University. In 2004, they released their first three track EP. Their music reminds me of bands like The Fashion, Crystal Castles and Cut Copy.

These rings are handmade in Italy by Ashanti Raffaele Cinzio and come in a set of three, shaped flat and polished in a brushed finish. One sterling silver, one yellow bronze and one rose bronze. The rings individually measure 2mm height on the thin side and raise gradually around the ring to a height of 50mm to the feature side. As a set, the total band width consistently measures 7mm.
