The video is trippy as hell and features a completely nude Shia Lebouf (of Transformers). However, it’s not the man parts that enticed me to bring this video to you, but the artful, original, and beautifully sad way in which the video is done.

For a heavy dose of drugs, sex and rock ‘n roll, packed into a high-octane three-minute ride, check out the new Bloody Beetroots music video for Rock Steady, directed by Wyatt Neumann. Neumann says he had no plan going into the shoot. He gathered a few of his friends, some booze, various vehicles and took to the desert to wreak havoc while getting it all on film. Disclaimer: do not dive into a hot tub head first. Shotgunning a beer underwater: optional.

Nestled behind the whimsy of 50’s-chic pastry shop, Jane’s Sweet Buns on St. Marks pl in New York, the good people of Death + Co and Cienfuegos opened up a hidden speakeasy beer bar, Proletariat. Jane’s Sweet Buns recently closed, and after slowly gaining clientele for three months, Proletariat expanded and came out from hiding. This place is my new heaven. They only serve beer: rare, new and unique beers from all over the world that you will be hard pressed to find elsewhere.

I like to think of myself as both being crafty and having a green thumb. However, I have been in denial. I can build a vegetable bed from scratch, but unfortunately the produce is measly at best. Which is why I was excited to see that there is a machine that will ensure my household greenery is lush. Just put in the batteries, fill it with water, and the planter’s software will monitor the exact needs of the plant.

I had the pleasure of meeting the one and only Patti Smith a few months ago when she handed me some pins for her upcoming album, Banga. Banga has since ben released. Patti is a legend and everything she produces is an instant classic in my book. There’s no other voice in the world like Patti’s. At times the album is mellow, deep and thoughtful, but always, it has the punk-rock Patti shining through.
