K. Saiki’s Repetition series is a beautiful mosaic of blues and whites. The individual Polaroid photographs are starkly simple, but combined they add up to much more than the sum of the individual parts.
Jelle Martens combines three things I love in his In the Quivering Forest series: nature, geometric shapes, and fabulous retro colors. His perfectly balanced compositions weave together photographs and blocks of color in a refreshingly unique way.
The natural lines and beautiful imperfections of Maria Kristofersson’s contemporary ceramics really speak to me. Patinas, minimal patterns, and textures add a delicate complexity to the simple colors and shapes of her work. These are true heirloom pieces.
Perhaps the perfect way to bring nature indoors is with this durable rug by Yvette Laduk. I’d like to grab a book, lay down on this piece, and imagine myself atop a stump in a forest of giant sequoias.
