My most recent body of work will be hanging at the Warwick Art Gallery from January 12 to February 19. Called Out of Space in the 2nd World, I have experimented with delicately cut-out images from old Atlases as an introduced medium to my paintings, where parts of the world may appear draped through a gypsies hair, or as balloons being held by an astronaut: whimsical, innovative and circular.

I went to a music festival last November called Harvest where I found a lot of the bands to be a bit ho-hum. Then I stumbled upon an act I had never seen before. Holy moly, their music was electric. Simply amazing!

I’ve had a strange fascination with snow globes ever since I can remember. Whenever I see one, I have to buy it, regardless if it’s the cheap dorky plastic kind from an amusement park or a really elaborate one made by Walter Martin and Paloma Munoz. Originally hailing from Kendal, Cumbria and now based in Leeds, the Wild Beasts foursome are the next hopefuls for Domino Records, who sent the group out to Sweden to record their first album, Limbo, Panto, released on June the 16th. The new single — The Devil’s Crayon — shimmers in wide-screen around a sense of location, melody and wonder at the scale of things. Indeed, it sounds like the theme song to a new kind of very English road movie.
