Stunning Brazilian bright colours can be seen in the work of emerging artist, Maria Nepomuceno, who creates beautifully woven sculptures and installations. A combination of coloured rope, straw and beads makes it quite a spectacle of spirals that organically form small galaxies.

Candyfall is a public art installation in Nottingham. I was inspired by liquorice allsorts sweets, their simple shapes and bold colours. The five giant ‘sweets’ made of fiberglass injected the park with some needed colour and use. It is also used as urban furniture as they were designed to be sat on and enjoyed. It is quite surreal to have bright coloured giant sweets in a park, and it will hopefully make people who see it smile.

Gabriel Dawe, a Mexican artist, creates amazing installations with an infinity of coloured threads. Plexus no.19 is his latest piece, made for the Miniartextil exhibition, which started on October 6 in the Italian city of Como. In this work, the contrast of the coloured thread and the classical architecture are somewhat unusual but work beautifully.

I dig this new, innovative and sustainable design for cosmetics packaging by Juho Johannes Kruskopf, Arttu Kuisma and Nikolo Kerimov, all students at Lahti Institute of Design in Finland. It’s beautiful packaging with a high-end look that could have many purposes.

From a university project to the best selling piece at MoMa in New York, Keybag is a handbag made with computer keyboard keys. João Sabino, a Portuguese designer, has created this piece from his interest in everyday objects, along with the deconstruction and discovery of new features. The keys, as fragments and rearranged, could be stronger than in the original configuration.

I came across this viral ad for PS3 on a recent talk I attended for Studio Output. The guy’s room changes into the movie he is watching, giving him an immersible experience. This video was shot in one take, with no effects and no post production. It is a fun and interactive way to watch a movie or video.
