This Williamsburg t shirt company, founded by fine artists Justin Horowitz and Joe Bklyn, is still in its larval state. But if it pans out anything like their other work, it should make for some amazing products. They also just happened to do the covers for two of our projects. Their work is always on point.
Quintessentially New York, this clothing brand delivers a solid men’s line of tees, rings, and boots, custom made by Sebago. Their range is both high-end and hipster, futuristic and retro, sharp and relaxed, all the while looking masculine without the need to suggest a lumberjack button down. Just stepping into their flagship store in the Lower East Side makes you feel like Indiana Jones and Marty McFly at the same time.
Achewood is the most well written comic on the web. It’s about an incredibly business savvy hedonist with no manners (Ray), his best friend, a clinically depressed computer programmer (Roast Beef), and all of their friends and roommates. Also, theyre animals. The strip is about them and the lives of their friends and neighbors.
I have a fascination with ridiculous animals, most especially pandas. Why do we save pandas? They cant even help themselves. They sit around all day eating. Pandas are the animal equivalent of an overweight American, except the pandas won’t willingly reproduce. There are perfectly good animals we can be saving: animals that persevere despite looming extinction: animals that will willingly reproduce. This is a photo of a researcher dressing as panda trying to save a panda. The other (below) is a photo of Shaq sitting with a panda on his lap. You can decide for yourself which one is more ridiculous, but I have a feeling it’s going to take you a minute.
