Lives and Levels is my independent skate company based in Sheffield, England, passionate about skateboarding, great design, and quality products. The name Lives and Levels comes from when my brother and I were kids and we’d play video games – mostly Mega Drive back then. We’d take it in turns based on lives and levels (you lose a life, you pass the pad; you complete a level, you pass the pad).

Stephen Baker is a Melbourne-based graphic artist and illustrator working out of Magic Johnston Art and Design Cultural Complex in Collingwood. His bread and butter is designing prints for various commercial and boutique clothing labels, but with every other spare moment, Baker illustrates, paints, prints and puts together shows. No wonder we like his work so much.

Ryan Ward of United Measures is a rare craftsman of the most beautiful bespoke frames and wooden objects. This trained designer has an amazing eye for detail. I recently had him frame my entire exhibition and they were the cherry on top.

My latest exhibition, If the world made sense, is currently showing at Lamington Drive. I’ve spent about six months working towards this from the initial concept of ideas: researching, referencing material, collaging compositions, experimenting with and refining techniques. All this before I begin sketching the finals, then spraying, drawing, painting, drawing, pulling my hair out, wanting to throw them in the bin and start again, spraying and more drawing. All this for a couple of weeks up in the gallery. But all said and done, I can’t wait to begin on the next one.

I’m excited to have recently discovered Lwnski. The Melbourne-based illustrator and I are paired up in an upcoming exhibition titled True Self. His bold use of colour, mixed with typography and loose lines, just works. It’s well worth a look at his band posters, too. So cool.
