Kickstarter project founder Ashlee Casserly is a Washington D.C resident. She is looking to revive an old-school white spirit called Poitín (pronounced puh-cheen) which originated in Ireland about 1,000 years ago. Poitín is Gaelic for ‘little pot’, derived from small coppers pots used by the home distillers. Read more

This year was my first year ever to go to Dias De Los Muertos San Francisco, but I’m so glad I did. It was incredible and inspiring. I recently came across Laurie Lipton’s work and it reminded me of that holiday. Her work is dark, eerie and all to do with death. I’m in love with her intricate, shadowy pencil drawings. Read more

This Happy Endings Collage series by Matthew Cusick makes me smile, even though the imagery and subject matter don’t portray such a happy ending. I like the simplicity. Who else can take such mundane photos of flowers and cars and make something so compelling out of it? Read more

Describing San Francisco Bay area based artist Scott Greenwalt’s work is not easy. What would be easy would be sitting in front of his large-scale portraits and landscapes while shrooming. Read more

The artwork of heavy metal illustrator Andrei Bouzikov speaks for itself. He was in a hardcore band called Deadfall for nine years but now dedicates all his time now to his art work. I should point out that he is my husband. But regardless of that, his illustrations blow my mind every day. Especially some of his most recent album cover work, which resembles a lot of what’s happening on Occupy Wall street at the moment. Read more

Imagine the earth abandoned by humans, blanketed in rubbish and white ashes, where insects are the only living species left. This is what my dreams are made of, unnerving visions of how we use and abuse nature in a way that is detrimental to humanity. My Creatures and Conflict conceptual art and furniture expresses this in a dramatic way, nature entangled and conflicted and fighting for survival, a kind of dream-like poetry in motion. Read more

I’m not really into pop but I have the song Vanessa by Montreal’s GRIMES (real name Clare Boucher) on repeat lately. I’ve kind of fallen in love with her baby voice. She definitely has her own distinct sound. She totally immerses herself into every part of her music.

I’m Irish and some of my friends back home send me over YouTube videos daily. This Lil Ms Rent Allowance video has gone absolutely viral all over Ireland. To put it simply, it’s hilarious.

Modern art meets otherworldly feel when Patrick Hruby lays down his imaginative silk screens. Glorious color penetrates with graphical precision and a slight trance-warmth sensation as pieces take on a personality and seem to stare right through.

Si Mitchell’s punk inspired illustrations are currently doing the rounds for the likes of British bands McFly and The Midnight Beast. A man of simple pleasures, he has been freelancing for the last five years,
and the hard work seems to finally be paying off. He’s one to watch. Read more

Perhaps the reason men are not known for their shoe fetishes is because when it comes to mens shoes in general, there are really only two must have varieties: vintage street wear and sartorialist leather. Read more
