She is looking to revive an old-school white spirit called Poitín (pronounced puh-cheen) which originated in Ireland about 1,000 years ago. This year was my first year ever to go to Dias De Los Muertos San Francisco, but I’m so glad I did. It was incredible and inspiring. I recently came across Laurie Lipton’s work and it reminded me of that holiday. Her work is dark, eerie and all to do with death. I’m in love with her intricate, shadowy pencil drawings. Read more

The artwork of heavy metal illustrator Andrei Bouzikov speaks for itself. He was in a hardcore band called Deadfall for nine years but now dedicates all his time now to his art work. I should point out that he is my husband. But regardless of that, his illustrations blow my mind every day. Especially some of his most recent album cover work, which resembles a lot of what’s happening on Occupy Wall street at the moment. Read more

Imagine the earth abandoned by humans, blanketed in rubbish and white ashes, where insects are the only living species left. This is what my dreams are made of, unnerving visions of how we use and abuse nature in a way that is detrimental to humanity. I’m not really into pop but I have the song Vanessa by Montreal’s GRIMES (real name Clare Boucher) on repeat lately. I’ve kind of fallen in love with her baby voice. She definitely has her own distinct sound. She totally immerses herself into every part of her music.
