Try to click the picture of an axe man reflected in a woman’s sunglasses on the first page of my website and the picture breaks up and parts revealing the legend: I am a One Man Subculture. All Things Awful

Alva Bernadine Reader Find

By Alva Bernadine in Cool Websites on Tuesday 13 December 2011

This Tumblr site shows the aftermath of fatalities, from a woman seemingly sleeping in the folds of a car roof after throwing herself off the the top of the Empire State Building, to the slumped body of gangster Bugsy Seagal shot through the eye, to the bloody back seat of the limousine JFK took his last ride in. They are nearly all black and white, and some are by the masters of reportage. But there are also many great photographs by people you would never have heard of.

By Alva Bernadine in Cool Travel on Tuesday 29 November 2011

At first sight I thought these trees were a Photoshop confection, but nature is often more ingenious than the human imagination. What looks like dirty candy floss is actually spider webs, where they climbed trees to escape the recent Pakistan floods.

By Alva Bernadine in Cool Websites on Tuesday 29 November 2011

All the trash of modern pop culture heaped in one place, Flash Glam Trash shows stuff like stills from long forgotten cult films, memes like people emulating the David Bowie lightening flash, Micky Mouse ears, or the documentary pictures of a man who photographs prostitutes. Sign up and add your contribution to the mire.
