Regardless, I watched it on Itunes and I still can’t really sum it up. It’s definitely not what I expected. It’s beautiful. And sad. And isolating. And comforting. When it was over I didn’t really know what I had just watched. All that said, it’s the best movie I’ve seen in a really, really long time.

I’ll be honest. It takes me a lifetime to finish a book. Any book. I always start them, and then have a really hard time with finishing. Every so often I’ll finish a book without skips in consistency. Empty Without You had me hooked from the beginning: it’s a book of letters between The First Lady to Franklin Roosevelt and one of the first female journalists of their time, Lorena Hickok. Not only did this book beautifully account for a pivotal time on our history, it documents an intimate and very long relationship between two very powerful women.
