The orignal idea with Brave New Old was to employ a mechanical storytelling element to the work, almost like a toy theatre. In the follow up, I decided to try extending this literally by placing all the characters in a giant machine that would tell the story. I also wanted to work directly with a musician from the start and cut the film to their track. So I worked with Brendan Hogan and our collaboration here has lead to a much larger project altogether.</p>
