This timelapse shows how Canada is just as beautiful as its Prime Minister

For six memorable weeks, photographer Florian Nick travelled more than 5,500km (3,400mi) across British Columbia and Alberta, documenting the beauty of Canada.

Just to be clear here, we’re talking about the country’s great outdoors. Not PM Justin Trudeau – although he’s beautiful too.

In his timelapse video, titled ALIVE, the Stuttgart, Germany-based creative woke up daily at the crack of dawn to find the most breathtaking scenery Canada has to offer. Through his efforts, he was able to capture more than 54,000 photos showing lush forests, crystal blue rivers and lakes, and awe-inspiring mountain ranges.

With the three-and-a-half minute short, Nick hopes to inspire us to take care of the environment better.

“By making this project, I want to raise awareness of our wonderful planet earth which we have the privilege to be part of,” he said. “That’s why we have to take responsibility for it – for the place where we are alive.”
