An Australia-themed sex toy is the purrr-fect souvenir (NSFW)

What happens when you’re a horny, single Australian? You start making Aussie-themed sex toys, of course.

JD Ryan is the woman with the absolutely bizarre idea. She started the company Downunder Toys almost two decades ago, and is apparently still going hard…

The, Aussie sex toy outlet is a niche market that remains inexplicably popular. We say inexplicably because we’re struggling to get our heads around the thought of a Koala Kiss (think of it as the rabbit for fans of ‘Straya).

If you jump onto the Downunder Toys website, you’ll find weird and wonderful designs such as the Sydney Starlet, a dildo modelled on the Sydney Opera House. Its resemblance is uncanny.

The Sydney Starlet is proving pretty popular with users such as Mike B saying, “Honestly I bought this for an overseas girlfriend as a bit of a laugh, but she absolutely loves it! It’s not a joke but it certainly makes her smile.”

The Koala Kiss seems to be little less successful, with 0 reviews to date. This may be because you can literally see the silicon koala clawing at the edge of the vibrator. It’s a little off-putting. Not to mention how terrifying this might be for foreigners who fear the Australian Drop Bear.

Ryan told News.au “It’s so important for a woman to feel her own power, to be in control of her sexuality. I’ve seen women who have never had an orgasm. When they experience one, they become more confident, more in touch with their body, it’s transformative.”

If you’re less into marsupials and sand in your hoo ha, Downunder Toys stock a wide range of regular sex toys too.
