Britney Spears is better known as a singer than a fine artist, but is seems she may be branching out into painting. Indeed, a piece of her work just fetched US$10,000 dollars at an auction to benefit the victims of the recent shooting in Las Vegas.
Britney Spears, who probably was the biggest pop star in the world in the early 2000s, posted a clip on her Instagram account in October that shows her on the terrace of her Thousand Oaks mansion creating a truly enigmatic work of art. Brush in hand, and scantily clad of course, stroke after brushstroke she presents to the world her true calling.
We doubt Jackson Pollock could do so well. At keeping white clothes clean, we mean.
“Sometimes you just gotta play!!!!!!” she captioned the clip, using none other than Mozart’s Rondo Alla Turca as a soundtrack. Mind. Blown.
Spears said about her magnum opus, “The flowers in my painting represent a new beginning, and it’s in that spirit that we move forward,”
… We can’t even…
Seriously though, in a very cool gesture she donated the masterpiece for a charity event to raise funds for the victims and first responders of the shooting in Las Vegas on October 1.
The owner of the piece is Mr. Robin Leach, former host of the super popular American TV show that aired from 1984 to 1995. Leach bid on the piece while simultaneously acting as auctioneer and afterwards proudly posed for pictures with his epic grab.
It’s not the first time Spears has donated to charity. The illustrious pop star gave away US$1 million from ticket sales from her Las Vegas “Piece of Me” residency to fund the new Britney Spears Campus at the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, which opened a couple of weeks ago.
