What could be worse than a bunch of noisy upstairs neighbours? Well, a bunch of noisy upstairs motorists.
In the city of Chongqing in China, an apartment building recently made headlines after photos of it showed a two-lane road built on its roof.
As it turns out, the residential complex was built on a hill, so the road was put there to make it more convenient for tenants to get to their homes. It doesn’t get any noise complaints too, seeing as no one lives in the level directly below it, and the other lower levels serve as a carpark and commercial space.
This isn’t the only strange architecture you’ll see in Chongqing. The city, home to 8.5 million people, also has an incredibly complex interchange, a building with a train running through it, and a 13-story high pedestrian bridge.
