We can never unsee these disturbing images of Spongebob and Patrick

Looking at these haunting photos of Spongebob and Patrick, we now understand why Squidward prefers avoiding them.

Ontario-based artist Miguel Vasquez has imagined what the beloved cartoon duo would look like in real-life. Using 3D rendering, he was able to depict Spongebob and Patrick with realistic body parts, including disproportionate heads, bulging eyes, and plaque-covered teeth.

The images are disturbing, to say the least.

“Patrick looks like he breaks the knees and Spongebob collects the fee,” said one commenter, while another added: “I have so many regrets about clicking onto this page… it’s like Patrick’s staring into my soul.”

In an interview with BuzzFeed, Vasquez explained that he’s a fan of real-life renderings of cartoons, and decided to try the concept on the two beloved characters. When asked how he feels about ruining everyone’s childhood with his work, he said: “That was the plan all along.”

UPDATE: He’s added handsome Squidward! OMFG.

The sexiest sea critter in bikini bottom. Just a quick test of handsome squidward. He'll look so good with the other two.
