Elephants are widely recognised to be one of the most intelligent animals behind humans (although after watching I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Outta Here I’m beginning to think that our IQ is greatly exaggerated).
Aristotle once wrote that elephants are “The beast which passeth all others in wit and mind”.
Proportionally speaking, they have the largest brain in the animal kingdom and possess a genuinely impressive capacity for emotions.
Both of these traits were on full display at the Grand Park Zoo in Seoul, South Korea.
One of the calves slipped into the pool at the enclosure and the two adults swiftly jumped into action – throwing themselves into the water and coming up with a brilliant solution to save the little tike.
