These were the chilling words of Jeremy Christian, accused of killing two men and wounding another as they protected a woman from his anti-Muslim tirade.
Christian, a 35-year-old known locally as a white supremacist, was in Multnomah County courtroom on Tuesday to face charges, including aggravated murder.
According to authorities, the man started verbally abusing two women, one of them wearing a hijab, while on a Portland train on Friday. Three men tried to intervene, and that’s when Christian pulled out a knife, killing Ricky John Best, 53, and Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche, 23.

As the suspect walked onto the courtroom, he started shouting: “Free speech or die, Portland! You got no safe place. This is America. Get out if you don’t like free speech!
He continued: “Death to the enemies of America. Leave this country if you hate our freedom. Death to Antifa! You call it terrorism, I call it patriotism! You hear me? Die.”
Also present in the hearing was 21-year-old student Micah Fletcher, one of the surviving attack victims. He claimed that Christian yelled epithets and slit all three men’s throats. He had visible stitch marks and was just released from the hospital on Tuesday.
“I want the Muslim community to know that they have a home here in Portland and are loved,” he told ABC News. “I want to honor the families who lost their brave fathers, sons and brothers, and I want the media and the country to honor those families. I want to send my condolences and honor those families.”
Also in attendance was Christian’s friend, known only as Jamie. He was escorted by authorities into the courtroom as angry anti-fascist protesters outside descended upon him.
Jamie, who said he’s known Christian for 15 years, denied being a neo-Nazi, but said: “I’ve fought and bled for my race.”
Court documents have provided more details of the incident.

Last Friday at 4:19pm onboard a train in Portland, the suspect was drinking sangria wine from a plastic container when he began shouting at two black teens, one of them wearing a hijab.
“Get the fuck out!” Christian said, the affidavit read. “Pay taxes!”
“I don’t care if you are ISIS,” he continued. “Fuck Saudi Arabia.”
One of the three stabbing victims tried to stop Christian, but the latter continued his tirade. Train security cameras revealed Christian then trying to provoke Namkai-Meche, saying, “Do something, bitch.”
A shoving match ensued between Christian and Fletcher when the latter came to Namkai-Meche’s rescue. That’s when the assailant lunged at them with a knife. The other victim, Best, tried to help, but he too was stabbed.
After being arrested by the police, a squad car’s camera recorded Christian ranting out. “I told him, ‘You ain’t gonna heal punk,'” Christian said, according to the affidavit.
“And he still wants to put his hands on me. Die bitch. Fucking die. Stupid motherfucker. That’s what liberalism gets you.”
“I hope they all die,” he added. “I’m gonna say that on the stand. I’m a patriot and I hope everyone I stabbed died.”
