Police minister demands not to meme photos of him, and it completely backfires

Pro tip: if you don’t want the internet to make fun of you, don’t ever make the mistake of telling them not to make fun of you.

Case in point, South African police minister Fikile Mbalula.

It all started early last year when his Twitter account was hacked – tweeting a picture of a half-naked woman. This was followed by a number of tweets about the said hacking:

Mbalula wrongly assumed that Twitter would be all smooth sailing after that. Well, at least until meme connoisseurs started using his image in ways he didn’t like. Like here:

He thought this one was okay though.

So he tried to ‘school’ the internet on how to use his images properly.

Unsurprisingly, it backfired.

But he wasn’t having any of it:

“You have no power here, police minister!” said the internet, probably.
