It was always going to be an awkward meeting when Canadian Prime Minister came to the United States, and it did not disappoint.
Trudeau and Donald Trump are polar opposites.
Trudeau is incredibly progressive, an avowed feminist, welcomes migrants into his country and leading the fight against global warming.
Trump, on the other hand is a borderline fascist, was caught on tape claiming he sexually assaulted women, has banned migrants from seven Muslim countries and believes that global warming is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese.
So yeah, it was always going to be a bit uncomfortable.
Trudeau was pretty diplomatic throughout the trip – biting his tongue and refusing to outwardly criticise Trump in front of the press.
But his displeasure at his counterpart couldn’t be hidden forever.
Trump offered to give Trudeau one of his trademark, super-long, bizarre-o handshakes but the Canadian PM hesitated because he probably saw what happened to the Japanese PM last week:
