There’s now a Kate Middleton-inspired café in Melbourne

A Royalty inspired cafe *cringe* has opened up in Melbourne. But before you judge, trust us, it isn’t as bad as you would imagine.

The cafe which has just opened in Prahran (one of Melbourne’s upper market suburbs) was inspired completely by none other than the classy Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine ‘Kate’ Middleton. It’s named Middletown, utilising a little play on the Duchess’ surname.

The place is a luscious yet comfortable experience which is based on Kate’s character. Middletown co-owner Randy Dhamanhuri describes the cafe as “Royal, but still close to the people,” much like Kate.

Who here loves mid-week brunch? Come down and enjoy a delicious treat! #middletownau

The 76-seater cafe may seem a little ambitious if not for the background of the owners. Randy Dhamanhuri and partner Valerie Fong are no foreigners to the cafe business. They also own and ‘operate’ Operator 25, a popular brunch cafe in Melbourne’s CBD. However, Middletown takes a different approach, with royal blue paneling, brass lighting, and an abundance of roses.

It also specialises in pancakes, waffles, and sources their coffee from much loved Code Black. And of course, don’t forget tea.

Middletown even provides a high-chair in case Kate Middleton happens to pop in with Prince George and Princess Charlotte on her next visit to Aus.
