Dash cam footage shows 54-year-old Sonya Ruprecht slamming her 4WD into her husband’s camper van believing the man was cheating on her.
The incident happened last December 30 at Crowdy Head Surf Club in northern NSW, Australia. According to reports, the mother-of-four was heard yelling “stay away from my husband,” before ramming her wheels into another vehicle – the car of the alleged mistress.
Mrs Ruprecht was initially arrested but was released after Mr Ruprecht refused to file charges. However, authorities re-arrested the lady after further investigation, and charged her with dangerous and negligent driving at Taree Police Station.
She’s set to attend court on January 10.
The husband of the alleged mistress denied his wife’s involvement, saying it was all a misunderstanding.
“My wife had nothing to do with it. She wasn’t even in the car. Some crazy wife thinks she is having an affair and my wife happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time,” he said.
“(Mrs Ruprecht) drove up to (my wife) and said something along the lines of ‘stay away from my husband’.
“Then they both drove off and some idiot with a dash cam filmed the incident and started talking about (my wife) was the other woman.
“My wife was surfing alongside 300 people … there was nothing going on.”
