The world lost an outstanding human being today in Carrie Fisher, and those that knew her talents better than anyone paid loving tributes to her.
The Star Wars star was clearly held in high regard by her colleagues, who gave an insight into her genius and dramatic gifts.
Harrison Ford, who played Han Solo, released a statement about the icon’s passing.
“Carrie was one-of-a-kind, brilliant, original,” he wrote.
“Funny and emotionally fearless. She lived her life bravely.
“We will all miss her.”
‘Star Wars’ creator and director George Lucas, told E! News Fisher was a “great and powerful” woman.
“She was extremely smart – a talented actress, writer and comedienne with a very colourful personality that everyone loved,” he said.
“In ‘Star Wars’ she was our great and powerful princess – feisty, wise and full of hope in a role that was more difficult than most people might think.”

I thought I had got what I wanted under the tree. I didn't. In spite of so many thoughts and prayers from so many. I am very, very sad.
