Nutella. The chocolatey goodness of the Italian gods. You might think it couldn’t get any better. WRONG! The hazelnut spread has just, once again, powered up.
Brace yourselves chocolate lovers: We have just been hit with some pretty exciting and drool-inducing news.
McDonald’s has just teamed up with Ferrero to create a Nutella burger. Yes, you read that right. A burger fit for breakfast, lunch, and, some would argue, dinner.
Thankfully, the burger does not contain a meat patty. Instead, it is a straight up dessert with two shiny buns smooshed together around a load of Nutella.
The burger has been named the “Sweety con Nutella.” It was announced via McDonald’s Italia’s Facebook page, so it has to be legit.
Nutella fans: it is okay to cry.
The description that was posted with the announcement reads:
“A soft sweetness has arrived that you will not be able to resist. Try Sweety with Nutella now: soft bread with a creamy, indulgent centre!”
There was really no need to convince us McDonald’s, we were hooked at “Nutella.”
Unfortunately, at this point in time, the burger can only be purchased from McDonald’s stores in Italy.
We’re wondering what we in Australia did to deserve this. But hey, if you are serious about testing out this burger, there are ways to get your sticky paws on one. Sure, you may be left a thousand dollars out of pocket (thanks, Qantas) but we expect the Sweety to be worth every cent.
In the meantime, McCafé Australia is serving some pretty gourmet goodies, with a range of decent cronuts and cinnamon scrolls available, so there is hope for your midnight cravings.
If that doesn’t satiate you, all you can do is wait and hope that this Sweety con Nutella will make its way to Australia.
