Photographer captures what kittens look like mid-pounce

In his newest project, entitled Pounce, photographer Seth Casteel shows us the goofy faces kittens make mid-pounce. Disclaimer: lots of ‘aww-ing’ up ahead.

The series, which is featured in its own photography book, features cats jumping, leaping, and hopping through the air, making the funniest expressions as they pounce on an unknown target – which we assume is a red dot.

Seth’s book contains 70 previously unpublished photos of kittens, all whom came from shelters and were available for adoption or already adopted at the time of the shoot. He hopes that by improving the image of homeless pets, adoption rates would go up.

Previously, Seth published books on dogs and babies diving underwater.

"Fuzzbucket" as featured in #POUNCE ! One of my very favorite kitties in the book from the awesome @adoptnshop !!! Paws out, claws out! All cats NEED their claws to be happy and healthy, so never declaw your cats. 😊🐈 #catsofinstagram
