What would an iconic fashion designer name a collection celebrating 45 years of work? Issey Miyake’s gone with the not-so-subtle “Miyake Issey Exhibition: The Work of Miyake Issey”.
And he hasn’t decided to go with a run-of-the-mill exhibition. He’s married tech with fashion in order to make things a little special.
By downloading the app, users are able to interact with Miyake’s designs. Using a smartphone camera, the app comes alive with a virtual reality model. She can inhabit your own everyday situations, or become part of your very own runway.
The exhibition will be held at the National Art Centre, Tokyo, until June 13. For ¥500 ($AUD105), an audio guide is available in English and Japanese.
