Swan uses its neck to hug the nice guy who rescued it

During a visit to the Abbotsbury Swannery in the UK, Richard Wiese, the host of TV show Born to Explore, made an unexpected friend: a swan.

While swans are magnificent, elegant creatures, they’re not the friendliest of animals. The birds are territorial and can be vicious around humans.

But for Wiese, this wasn’t case.

At the sanctuary, he met an injured swan, which flew into a chain-link fence, so he comforted the bird to allow it to be transported.

In return, the Cygnus wrapped its long neck around Wiese’s and gave him a loving hug.

“When I put it next to me I could feel its heart beating and it just relaxed its neck and wrapped it around mine,” Wiese explained. “It’s a wonderful moment when an animal totally trusts you.”
