Cat has been watching guard over baby even before he was born!

This is Panda, a two-and-a-half year old cat who, up until three months ago, was a tiny bit obsessed with her human’s belly. That’s because her human, Liel Ainmar Assayag, was pregnant, and Panda absolutely loved it.

Liel said, “Once I got pregnant she started following me around the house, tucking her head on my belly, purring.”

After Liel gave birth to her son, Sean Ivory, the kitty was still as watchful as ever. New mum Liel even sent her husband home with a onesie of Sean’s so the overprotective feline could learn the newborn’s smell.

“Now, three months later, she jumps on the bed near him, smells him, sits next to him. You can clearly see she loves him from the beginning!” Liel told Love Meow.

In an interview with BuzzFeed, Liel said: “I want to show the people that pets are great companions for kids and they can learn so much from them. For some people they are just pets. But for the pets, people are their family and that’s how we should treat them — as family. And you don’t give up on your family.”

All together now — awww.
