Your favourite drinks are shaken by a robotic bartender on the Anthem of the Seas

Welcome onboard Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas, where you’ll be spoiled with luxury day and night (you deserve it after all!). This $1.25 billion ship is the third-largest cruise ship in the world at 348m long and weighing 170,000 tonnes.

Accommodating 5,000 adventurers on every cruise, this impressive ship is not just a place to eat and sleep along the high seas, but a place for high-end shopping, entertainment, and yes, skydiving! Oh, and if you’re looking for a drink to celebrate your journey across the waves, a robot bartender can help you with that, too.

Yup, the Anthem of the Seas is the most technologically advanced cruise ship we’ve ever laid eyes on. So, of course, it boasts futuristic features like smart check-ins and RFID WOWband wristbands to make onboard purchases and open your room without a key. But if there’s one thing we’re really smitten with, it’s the Bionic Bar powered by Makr Shakr.

This is the world’s first true robotic bar where your order is taken via a tablet. Once your order is in the system, you stand back and watch the robotic bartenders reach from the dozens of bottles hanging over them, depending on what ingredients you’ve added to your nightly concoction.

The robotic bartenders then mix your brew to perfection, adding in the right amount of ice, lemons and mint (if you want it, that is) to produce a drink that rivals a cocktail from even the most experienced of artisan cocktail makers.

If that’s not a good enough reason to get onboard the Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas, what is?
