In anticipation of Halloween, Burger King recently launched a limited-edition black Whopper in the United States. Customers though got spooked for the wrong reasons when it came out green on the other side!
The Halloween Whopper has long been a regular offering in Japan, albeit made with different ingredients. Japan uses squid ink and bamboo charcoal as food colouring, while America’s version has A.1. Steak Sauce baked into the bun for extra flavour. This change in ingredients may (or may not) have caused everyone’s poop to turn green.
The weird phenomenon has since blown up on social media, with plenty complaining about the unintended side effect (and others actually excited to try the burger for obvious reasons). And if you really want visual confirmation, you can search the hashtag ‘#GreenPoop’. Enjoy.
Yo @BurgerKing your Halloween Whopper turned my poop SUUUUPER green! It was bomb tho.

Yesterday I had the Halloween Whopper… Today my poop is green. Yesterday was the last time I’ll have the Halloween Whopper.

Took like three days for my poop to stop being green, but was totally worth it, @BurgerKing
