London’s dizzying sky pool is not for those with fear of heights

In London, developers are planning on building a 10-storey high translucent pool that acts both as a bridge between two luxury apartments and as an agoraphobic’s worst nightmare.

Called the ‘Sky Pool’, it comes with protective 8-inch glass and lets swimmers enjoy views from 115-feet up. The world-first structure will be part of the Embassy Gardens development in Nine Elms, where two thousand homes are up for sale. Construction is set to begin next year, with the first turnover of homes expected to be in 2018.

‘My vision for the Sky Pool stemmed from a desire to push the boundaries in the capability of construction and engineering’, said Ballymore Group CEO Sean Mulryan. ‘I wanted to do something that had never been done before’.

‘The experience of the pool will be truly unique; it will feel like floating through the air in central London’, he added.

No need to worry about falling off this spectacular pool though, as we probably won’t even be able to access it anyway with apartment prices start at £602,000 ($940,279). Whew! Good thing we can’t afford scary features like this!
