In a food experiment of epic proportions, one noodle hero from Japan went into a local ramen restaurant and successfully ordered a bowl containing 100 slices of chashu roast pork.
Going on assignment for website RocketNews24, a correspondent by the name of P.J. asked the manager of ramen chain ‘Ishiyaki Ramen Kazan’ if he could order way past the allowed number of pork toppings, which was 30. After careful deliberation, the manager allowed the request, and soon, a bowl filled to the brim with chashu pork came out of the kitchen.
According to RocketNews24, P.J. quickly dug into the pile of toppings, consuming about three slices per minute. With his pace considerably slowing down ten minutes into it, he decided to mix it up with a bowl of rice, but still couldn’t finish the job, downing only 40 slices. He apologized right after to the staff who put in so much hard work in preparing such a bountiful feast.
And the cost of ordering a bowl like that? 10,638 yen, or about $85. Anyone else gonna take up the challenge?
