Tiny illustrated characters look like they’re balancing on the wings of airplanes

Feeling a little bored on that flight home? Got some artistic skills? You might want to take after artist Claire Harvey and illustrate your hours away! Using paper and clear tape, Harvey creates the illusion that teeny characters are standing on the wings of flying planes.

Her series is called ‘Postcards’ and Harvey describes it as ‘following ideas that are ephemeral… moments that have gone and the accumulation of particular acts’. Each image conjures up feelings of loneliness, isolation – and for some, existential dread. Probably not the feelings I’d like to be experiencing while flying 35,000 feet in the air, but creative nonetheless.
