Australia’s Winton Wetlands in beautifully vivid colours

The Winton Wetlands is one place that is starting to get known throughout Australia. Located on the eastern edge of the Victorian Riverina Bioregion, this 8,750-hectare wetlands welcomed a new hub recently by opening a café for tourists to spend some time before driving through the wetlands to see wildlife. Even with no water in most of the Wetlands itself, it still allows sightings of some birdlife, kangaroos, wallabies and even turtles. I love to drive through this large expanse each day, and when the sun rises or sets with some cloud cover, it allows for some interesting photo opportunities.

Visit the Winton Wetlands online and check out more of Rene Martens’ photography work here.
