In China, a firefly-themed park just opened in Wuhan, Hubei

Firefly lovers now have a destination to go to for their illuminating fix: the world’s first firefly-themed park in Wuhan, the capital of China’s Hubei province.

10,000 fireflies were imported from Ningdu County in Ganzhou of Jiangxi province. Loosely divided into five zones that includes a ‘zero-distance zone’ contact area and an observation zone, the park will stay open till early October this year before reopening from May-Oct in subsequent years.

Following the huge 10,000-strong crowds that flocked in on its May 30 opening day, two water routes have been launched to take visitors on a leisurely firefly-watching cruise in the East Lake.
