Camp under the stars and discover incredible music at this year’s Gympie Music Muster

One of Queensland’s greatest music festivals is coming up and if this event isn’t on your to do yet, it should be. The Gympie Music Muster takes place every year in the beautiful Amamoor Creek State Forest Park, just 180 kilometres north of Brisbane.

What is usually a tranquil scene of nature turns into the quintessential Aussie event, focusing on Australia’s finest musicians, all with the gorgeous backdrop of towering trees and waterfalls.

Over the course of four epic days, music lovers are spoiled not only with country music, but also folk, bluegrass, balladeers, gospel, blues, bush poetry, and a fierce competition – the Maton Talent Search – where future careers are established.

This year’s lineup of artists include Adam Brand, Grammy award winner Mary Chapin Carpenter, Troy Cassar-Daley, Amber Lawrence, Ian Moss, Catherine Britt, Luke O’Shea, and fresh from X-Factor 2014 (and Gympie’s own) Caitlyn Shadbolt. And that’s just getting started!

There are eight venues within the Muster which will host different programs throughout the festival, so you’ll always be spoilt for choice. But if that wasn’t enough to tempt you to pack those bags, you should know that all Gympie Music Muster tickets include camping. So not only will you be experiencing some of this country’s finest talent, all day every day, but you’ll also get to sleep under the stars and enjoy some delicious campfire cooking.

There’s a huge range of options available when it comes to camping, too. You can go budget by camping out in a tent or indulge in a bit of luxury while out at Gympie with bed and breakfast options. But for those sleeping on the campsite, you might just be rewarded with a prize if the organisers find your accommodations ‘the most unusual and innovative and/or environmentally friendly‘.

Tickets for the Gympie Music Muster are on sale now and the event takes place August 27 to 30. Head on over to the Gympie Music Muster website for more info.
