A coffee table that looks like it’s being propped up by a bunch of balloons

Sorry to burst your bubble – or your balloon, rather – but this table isn’t what it seems to be. Called the UP Balloon Table, it features a glass surface seemingly suspended by colourful balloons. However, it’s just an illusion.

The strings are actually steel rods that help prop up the metal orbs supporting the glass.

The table was thought out by designer Christopher Duffy (who we’ve featured previously), who wanted to play with concepts on levitation and buoyancy. It’s the 2015 edition of its rectangular predecessor, which came out a couple of years ago.

You can purchase this trompe l’oeil table for about $11,750 here.
